A. Le Coq’s beers received recognition in three categories at the Best Estonian Beverage competition

At the festival Maitsev Eesti, held over the weekend, the best beverages produced in Estonia this year were revealed. In the competition organized by the Estonian Sommelier Association, A. Le Coq’s beers proudly secured two silver and one bronze medals.
In the category of light and red beers brewed in the lager style, A. Le Coq’s Franconian Red Lager earned a silver medal. Franconian Red is a historical South German lager beer type characterized by a copper-red color, a white frothy head, and a dry and lingering malty aftertaste.
A. Le Coq’s Jõuluporter received a silver medal in the categories of best dark beers, lagers, and ales. A. Le Coq’s Jõuluporter brings the right Christmas atmosphere to the holiday table with its magnificently deep black color and dense frothy head. Special roasted and caramel malts are used in the brewing of this dark and wintry beer, giving it a robust, bitter, and caramel flavor.
The bronze medal for the best beer in the pale ale, IPA, and Fruited Sour category went to A. Le Coq’s Premium Summer Ale, a light and citrusy ale-type beer.
This year, a record number of beverages participated in the Best Estonian Beverage competition. A total of 167 different drinks from 48 beverage masters were involved. The drinks were evaluated through blind tastings by recognized Estonian sommeliers, bartenders, journalists, and other experts in their field.
