König Ludwig Weissbier
Light wheat beerKönig Ludwig Weissbier Hell is a classic wheat beer based on long-standing royal Bavarian traditions. The royal family of Bavaria held the monopoly on brewing beer in the entire region for around 200 years, which means that they can be considered the most experienced producers of wheat beer (or Weißbier which is how it is called in Bavaria). The experience, unique yeast and special brewing process were recognised in 2008, when König Ludwig Weissbier Hell was named the world’s best wheat beer in the World Beer Award competition organised by the renowned Beers of the World magazine.
The beer is straw yellow, characteristically a little hazy, with a thick dense head. The aromas are intense: the exotic combination of cloves and banana comes first, followed by light citrus notes. The taste is refreshingly acidic and fruity with elegant acidity and lively spiciness lasting in the aftertaste.
