The Beer World invites all art lovers to the opening of Ilmar Kruusamäe’s drawing exhibition “JOON ISTUS” on December 10th at 4:00 PM.
Although Kruusamäe is mainly known as a painter, drawing on various canvases, from used envelopes to beer coasters, has allowed him to engage in art spontaneously: anywhere and at any time. Perhaps it is this freedom that makes his drawings so imaginative and rich in fantasy.
“JOON ISTUS” is Kruusamäe’s second solo exhibition at the A. Le Coq Beer Museum. In 2017, the Beer Museum showcased Kruusamäe’s pencil drawings on beer coasters from the years 2007-2017.
Ilmar Kruusamäe (b. 1957) is an Estonian painter and a founding member of the Kursi School art group. Since 1995, he has been leading the Art Cabinet at the University of Tartu. Kruusamäe is also a recipient of the Ado Vabbe Scholarship (2007) and the Kristjan Raud Award (2008).
This is the sixth art exhibition at the Beer Museum, and the exhibitions change every three months.
The exhibition is open in the art tunnel of the A. Le Coq Beer World from December 10, 2024, to March 8, 2025, Tue-Fri 11 AM-6 PM and Sat 11 AM-5 PM. Visiting the exhibition is free of charge.
