The Responsible Business Forum Estonia awarded its annual quality labels again on June 4, recognising companies that participated in the index assessment with gold, silver, or bronze levels. A. Le Coq took part in the Responsible Business Index for the third time and achieved the gold level for the second time.

A. Le Coq competed in the category of medium and large companies, where a total of 23 organisations were evaluated, including five manufacturing companies. A. Le Coq exceeded the average results of its peer group across all assessed categories, and the company’s overall score improved compared to the previous evaluation.

According to expert feedback, A. Le Coq’s approach to sustainability is mature and systematic, clearly extending from the strategic level to practical implementation. The company understands the key impacts of its sector, including the social impact related to the consumption of its products, and addresses these impacts in a structured way. The company has defined key performance indicators and targets, conducts risk assessments, and has mechanisms in place for managing suppliers.

“Maintaining the gold level label is an important recognition of our team’s consistent work and dedication. It confirms that we have upheld a high standard and continued to take informed and effective steps towards our goals. Responsible business practices and sustainable development are an integral part of A. Le Coq’s daily operations,” said Katrin Lember, the HR and Sustainability Director of A. Le Coq.

The index methodology has been specifically developed for the assessment in cooperation with international experts, following the principles of the UN Global Compact, ESG evaluation frameworks, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Participants were required to answer 67 questions across three categories: climate and environment, society and social environment, and governance. During the evaluation, independent assessors reviewed the proportionality of the described activities in relation to the organisation’s core business and market best practices.

The label is awarded for two years and is valid until 4 June 2028.
