This year, A. Le Coq is celebrating the 90th anniversary of its much-loved Traditional Lemonade and invites everyone to join the festivities on 28 June at Tartu Town Hall Square. As one of the highlights of Tartu City Day, Lemonade Day will offer games, experiences and a musical finale for the whole family, celebrating a drink that has been part of Estonians’ lives for generations.

“Lemonade is much more than just a drink — it is part of the shared memories and summer moments of people in Estonia. A 90th birthday is a remarkable milestone, and we want to celebrate it together with the people of Tartu and all lemonade fans in the place where the story of our lemonade feels most at home — in Tartu,” said Mari-Liis Õunapuu, Communications Manager at A. Le Coq.

Lemonade Day will take place one day before the official Tartu City Day and is part of the event’s main programme. Throughout the day, visitors at Town Hall Square can enjoy a lively opening show and morning exercise with Limpa and Merros, the Limpa adventure game, a science show by AHHAA, and a reading session of the book Limpa and the Pirates. The evening will culminate with a concert by villemdrillem and band.

“Limpa’s morning parties have been very popular for several years, giving children and young people a chance to be part of the City Day programme,” said Ragnar Konson, producer of Tartu City Day. “This year, we are celebrating lemonade’s impressive anniversary with a varied programme designed to make the celebration truly memorable.”

Lemonade’s 90th anniversary year will also bring a number of other activities for A. Le Coq. In June, a pop-up exhibition dedicated to lemonade will open at the Beer Museum, bringing together the history of the drink, people’s memories and the story of how the product has evolved over the decades.

Traditional Lemonade has been part of A. Le Coq’s portfolio continuously for 90 years, and its taste has become a symbol of childhood, summer and shared moments for many Estonians. This emotional value, connecting several generations, is at the heart of the anniversary celebrations.
