A. Le Coq

Investment grants

A. Le Coq is an innovative food industry company which uses high-tech solutions in its activities and continuously develops production so as to make it more environmentally sound and to save on resources. The company has taken support from the Structural Funds for several major projects.

In 2019 we implemented a project entitled ‘Installation of a condensing economiser system’, which helped solve two problems: it helped drastically reduce consumption of natural gas and diminished the environmental impact of the company’s energy production. The European Regional Development Fund co-financed and the Environmental Investment Centre coordinated the financing of the project. The total cost of the project amounted to 185,650 euros, co-financed by the EU was 83,542.50 euros.

In 2020 we have launched a project entitled ‘Beer industry effluent system to reduce wastewater and produce biogas’, which will produce a system for turning production waste into energy. The project will see the construction of an industrial treatment system for washing water complete with buffer tanks and an anaerobic reactor at A. Le Coq’s plant in Tähtvere.

This novel effluent system will make production even more resource-efficient and environmentally sound. Our goal is to annually replace approx. 184,930 cbm of natural gas with biogas produced on site and to reduce the amount of production waste ending up in wastewater by up to 80%. The new system is set to go live in early 2022. The European Regional Development Fund co-financed and the Environmental Investment Centre coordinated the financing of the project. The planned cost of the project is 2,743,712 euros, 1,135,264.50 will be co-financed by the EU.
